TRADE NOTICE
Sub: Regulating the Vehicular Traffic flow of Export laden Container Trailers- reg.
In as much as (a) the Port roads in the Estate have been strengthened, (b) the strengthening work of the road connecting the VOC Statue and the IOC Installation has been completed (c) the Photo Pass Section has been opened on 21.07.2009, the following traffic flow will be adopted with immediate effect for cargo lorries in order to avoid congestion of trucks in the Port roads and to regulate the in bound and out bound traffic :-
All export container laden trailers with ID card for driver/cleaner and vehicles plying through the Harbour Express Road shall proceed upto VOC statue, turn left in the Traffic Island near World Trade Avenue, take the IOC Installation Road and enter through the Blue Gate. The specified route to be adopted is shown by arrow marks in the sketch enclosed.
All vehicles carrying load from the Port to the Marshalling Yard area will take a turn at VOC statue and then take the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Road.
All the trailers carrying empty containers from the Port to the stackyards south of Express Road will take the Service Road from the Traffic Island near the VOC statue and leave out at the western end. The same Service Road will not be allowed for two way traffic.
All the trucks leaving the Port and required to take weighment in the Private Weigh Bridge located near the Marshalling Yard will take right turn near the open shed of M/s Vicnivaas Agency and move through Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Road.
All empty & load vehicles coming from outside and required to go to the godowns near the Marshalling Yard will proceed upto VOC statue and then take a left turn to go to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Road.
For heavy vehicles all the Port roads will be used as one way only.
Till strengthening of the service road, the Container laden Trailers proceeding to Blue gate shall pass through Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Road after obtaining passes from the New Photo Pass Section near VICNIVAAS Shed.

2. It is requested to give wide publicity of this Trade Notice to all Container Trailer operators and also among Drivers, etc. and ask them to extend their full co-operation. Deviation, if any, to the above proposed Traffic flow, will be construed as violation of traffic regulations in Port and appropriate penal action will be taken against such erring vehicle/driver as per the rules in force.
3. Therefore, all concerned are requested to co-operate with the Port in implementing the traffic flow in the Port area to avoid congestion on the Port roads.
